Summer Infant Safety

Every parent comes the new summer season, before a bit 'reservation. So many things to look out for, along with the natural fear of the new parent company, it may be difficult to rely on some properties. Why any parent will tell you a certain amount of trial and error comes into play. On the other hand, some 'common sense goes a long way too.

Although it is natural to want to hold your baby skin covered, the parents must be careful not to overdress the baby. Yes, it's a good idea to keep baby's skin is protected from the sun. Just make sure your baby is not overdressed. Try to use clothes that are made of lightweight cotton or linen, and always be sure to cover the wee head with a big, big hat.

There is preliminary impossible to completely avoid the sun in the summer months. Many parents choose to keep their children from the sun, instead of using a sunscreen and let them roam free. It is a very serious approach, but not always practical. Be sure to use high-quality sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30, when in the sun with the baby. And remember that little need sunscreen when in the pool, too!

Insects are another consideration, especially those pesky mosquitoes! In the past were more of a nuisance than a health problem, but lately there are legitimate concerns about West Nile Virus. In addition to the conventional techniques of prevention against mosquito advised by public health authorities, there are few alternatives available. As a parent, I would not be comfortable application of DEET on the skin of the baby in May. DEET is a highly toxic chemical and toxic to the army, not for babies. Try using scented oil, such as tea tree oil or rosemary. Are a safe and natural. If you spend time in the wilderness, carrying baby in lightweight clothing that leaves very little skin exposed.

If your child is old enough to ride a bike, make sure you have a good quality helmet to wear. Every year, hundreds of children rushed to the hospital for injuries are easily avoidable. Play it safe and make sure your child always wear a helmet when playing with a toy with moving wheels. For young children learning to walk, why not consider using a baby harness? In this way, you can leave your child without having to worry about scratches and bruises! Have a good summer and play safely.
